Special thanks to Thomas Juvan in the English Dept. for the invitation and to the exemplary students. Their work was impressive, and their thoughtful questions showed a deep level of engagement that was so rewarding.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I am delighted &amp; grateful to have been one of the poets chosen to be included in the <strong>&#8220;Tabletop Poem&#8221; project by Dr. Joseph Bruchac,<\/strong> Saratoga Poet Laureate, <strong>Carol Graser and Caffe Lena,<\/strong> in which an installation of individual poems appeared for the month of September 2023 on the tables of Caffe Lena in celebration of the Caffe Lena&#8217;s Poetry Open Mic&#8217;s <em>20th Anniversary<\/em> and its host, poet Carol Graser. My poem &#8220;Heartsease,&#8221; first published in Poetry Ireland Review, was featured. <em>Congratulations Carol &amp; Lena&#8217;s!<\/em> I often quote Carol, who says her mission is: &#8220;&#8230; to make people hate poetry less.&#8221; WELL DONE INDEED!!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>So excited to learn filmmaker Laura Frare &amp; I have won Best Experimental Short in the <a href=\"https:\/\/filmfreeway.com\/AlbanyFilmFestival\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/filmfreeway.com\/AlbanyFilmFestival\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>New York State Writers Institute Albany Film Festival<\/strong><\/a> for our video\/poem collaboration titled &#8220;COMPASS.&#8221; We attended the screening &amp; awards April 1, 2023.
